Read the New Testament in 90 Days: Free Reading Plan

Reading the whole Bible in a year means three or four chapters a day starting in Genesis, and many people stall somewhere in Leviticus. Reading the New Testament in 90 days is a shorter goal: 27 books, 260 chapters, three chapters a day, about 15 minutes.

How the 90 day plan works

  • Days 1–80: three chapters a day (240 chapters).
  • Days 81–90: two chapters a day (20 chapters).
  • The books are read in order, from Matthew to Revelation.

The plan is not tied to dates. If you start on January 1, 2027, day 90 falls on March 31.

Write one verse a day

After the day's three chapters, choose one verse that stayed with you and copy it out by hand. At the end of 90 days you will have 90 verses from the New Testament in your own handwriting.

A notebook works, or print the free lined scripture writing page. If you want room to reflect on the verse, the SOAP page and the SOAP method give each day four short steps.

If you fall behind

Skip ahead to the day you are on and keep going. You can read the missed chapters on a lighter day, or leave them for a second pass.

After the New Testament

To read the whole Bible next, the 2027 Bible reading plan sets out all 1,189 chapters by month. For shorter plans built around handwriting, see scripture writing plans.

Write it in the app

Penned Grace lets you write scripture by hand, letter by letter, on iPhone, iPad or Android, with your finger or Apple Pencil. It is free to download.
