Does Penned Grace cost anything?
No. Every feature in the first release is free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no ads.
Are there ads?
No. Penned Grace has no ads and does not track what you do to target advertising.
Can I use Apple Pencil on iPad?
Yes. Penned Grace runs on iPhone and iPad, and on iPad you can write with Apple Pencil; the ink responds to your pressure.
Do I need an account?
No. Every feature works as soon as you open the app, and everything is stored on your phone. If you want to keep your writing when you change phones, tap “Sync now” for a cloud backup, or sign in with Apple.
Which Bible translations are included?
The Berean Standard Bible is built in, and you can download the World English Bible and the King James Version. For Chinese, the 1919 Chinese Union Version is built in, in Traditional and Simplified characters. All of them are in the public domain.
Can I write without an Apple Pencil?
Yes. Your finger works fine, and there is a typing mode too. With Apple Pencil, the ink responds to your pressure.
Which devices are supported? Is there an Android app?
The first release runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS / iPadOS 16.4 or later. Android will follow.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The built-in translations, writing, your calendar and reflections all work without a connection. You only need one to download another translation or to back up to the cloud.
Can anyone else see my reflections?
No. Reflections are never added to share cards or PDFs. They are stored on your phone by default; if you turn on cloud backup, they are backed up with the rest of your writing, and security rules allow only your own account to read them.
What happens if I miss a day?
Nothing bad. There are no penalties or red warnings, and milestones you have earned stay. Write a few words the next day and it is a new day.
Can I paste text in typing mode?
You can, but pasted text does not count toward what you have written. Only typed words do.
When does the verse of the day change?
At midnight in your phone’s time zone.
Has the content been reviewed?
Yes. The daily verses, prayers, guiding questions and reading plans have been reviewed by a pastor.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone. Cloud data can be deleted under Me → Cloud sync; this cannot be undone. See the support page for details.
