Changing your phone or tablet

Your writing is stored on the device and is never uploaded to us. Your iPhone or iPad iCloud backup includes it; these are the steps for iPhone and iPad.

On the old device, check that Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Backup is on, and let a backup finish.
When you set up the new device, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and pick the old device’s backup.
Open Penned Grace after the restore and your writing is where you left it.

Deleting and reinstalling the app on its own does not bring your writing back. It returns only when the whole device is restored from an iCloud backup. On Android, your writing travels with Google’s system backup: check that it is on in Settings → Google → Backup, and restore from it when you set up the new phone. Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device, and we hold nothing of yours. Any copy inside an iCloud or Google device backup is managed by your Apple or Google Account.

Cancelling Premium

On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, go to Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions in Google Play. Choose Penned Grace. Premium stays on until the end of the current period, and cancelling at least 24 hours before the free trial ends means you are not charged. On a new device, tap “Already bought it? Restore purchase” on the Premium screen to bring your subscription back.

The daily reminder does not appear

Check that notifications are allowed: on iPhone or iPad in Settings → Notifications → Penned Grace, on Android in Settings → Apps → Penned Grace → Notifications. Then choose your reminder time again under Me. Battery saving on some Android phones can block reminders; set Penned Grace to unrestricted. Reminders are scheduled on your phone only, so set them again after resetting the phone.

A translation will not download

The World English Bible is about 4.5 MB and needs a connection to download. Try again on a stable connection. Once downloaded it works offline.
