February 2027 Scripture Writing Plan: Love and Lent

Scripture writingPublished ・

Short answer

This February 2027 scripture writing plan gives you one verse a day for 28 days, from Jeremiah 31:3 on Monday, February 1 to Matthew 11:28 on Sunday, February 28. The first two weeks are about love, ending with 1 Corinthians 13:13 on Valentine’s Day (Sunday, February 14). Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 10, and the last two weeks follow it: returning to the Lord and following Jesus toward Easter on March 28.

February 2027 Scripture Writing Plan: Love and Lent

February 2027 has exactly four weeks, from Monday, February 1 to Sunday, February 28. This plan gives you one verse a day to write out by hand. Two dates shape it: Ash Wednesday on February 10, when Lent begins, and Valentine’s Day on Sunday, February 14. So the month moves from love to Lent. If you wrote through the January 2027 plan, none of these verses repeat it.

How to use this plan

  • Write one verse a day, in any translation you like.
  • Read the verses around it first, so you know the context.
  • Under the verse, write one person you can love better this week, or one thing you want to turn back from during Lent.
  • Missed a day? Pick up at today’s verse. There is no need to catch up.

The weekly themes

  • Feb 1–7: God’s love. An everlasting love that nothing can separate us from.
  • Feb 8–14: Loving one another. Love as Jesus loved us, ending with faith, hope and love on Valentine’s Day. Ash Wednesday falls in this week.
  • Feb 15–21: Return to the Lord. The first full week of Lent: prayer, repentance and coming near to God.
  • Feb 22–28: Following Jesus. Taking up the cross and looking to Him on the way to Easter.

Ash Wednesday: February 10

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, 46 days before Easter Sunday on March 28, 2027. The verse for that day is a call to come back to God:

So rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the LORD your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion. And He relents from sending disaster. (Joel 2:13, BSB)

Read Joel 2:12–17 before you write. Many churches read this passage on Ash Wednesday. If you are writing through Lent, this is a good day to start a new page.

Valentine’s Day: February 14

Valentine’s Day 2027 falls on a Sunday. The verse closes the chapter Paul wrote about love:

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13, BSB)

Read all of 1 Corinthians 13 first. If you are writing a card that day, our verses for cards show how to fit a verse into a short message.
